Case studies
Major UK Supermarket Group - Supply Chain Cold Store
315 x 400w Sodium Low Bay luminaires were retrofitted with e-LPT electronic ballasts, Metal Halide lamps and movement sensors. This retrofit solution resulted in energy savings of 48% and a reduction in lamp changes and associated maintenance costs of 50%. The working environment and colour rendition improved considerably because of the change to White Light. Lux levels increased by 30% during periods of warehouse activity. The payback period was under 13 months.
Frozen food distributor
The supply chain warehouse of this specialist distribution company installed e-LPT ballasts in the void above its insulated ceiling. In this way installation costs were minimised and the company benefitted immediately by replacing Sodium lamps with high output Metal Halide light sources. Lighting System energy savings are more than 300,000 kWh per annum.
UK Manufacturing Plant
With over 600 lighting points mounted at a height of 10 metres a reduction in maintenance costs and an improvement in lighting level was a priority. e-LPT ballasts have reduced energy consumption by 32% while lamp life has doubled and maintenance costs have halved. Metal Halide white light has improved colour rendition, working environment and security issues. Lux levels have improved by 15%. Monitoring and control is achieved through network-based addressability and combines with the Plant's exterior lighting system. The whole project can be monitored and controlled via the Internet.
